MISS BOLGA CELEBRATES THE INTERNATIONAL GIRL CHILD EDUCATION DAY,CHARGE PARENTS TO INVEST MORE ON THE GIRL CHILD EDUCATION.


Today, the International Girl Child education is been celebrated globally,the world itself is celebrating the value placed on educating the girl child. 



The Miss BOLGA beauty queen Miss Serana Ogodobiri, a medical student at the St Gregory University Abia State and the CEO of SERENA OGODOBIRI GIRL CHILD EDUCATION FOUNDATION  has join other sister organisation to mark this day in her words the queen said.

That " a ton of things are expected from every woman to be fit for marriage, to make a good wife and a good mother,it is funny to expect a product you did not order for or rather an unfinished product.

She futher expressed that The girl child education has been a troubling issue in most parts of the world till date and it makes one to wonder most of the time if the way the girl child  is being treated in this 21st century was how they were treated in the Stone age.

That there is a saying that goes thus, "when you educate the boy, you educate one person but when you educate a girl, you educate the family---and the whole nation." And it is not untrue, educating a girl child is the biggest investment a parent, a guardian and even a government can ever make. 

The beauty queen futher added that the girl child brings pride to their parents when they do well in their respective endeavors even down to their husband's houses that is why when a girl child misbehaves you hear something like "her parents did not teach her well" and not any other person. 

Giving a girl child proper orientation on sex curbs the high increase of unwanted pregnancies in the society in that getting pregnant or not solely depends on the sexual orientation the girl child is exposed to.

An educated girl child grows up to be an educated woman.

An educated girl child  would never grow up to see men as gods to be feared all the time and would not die in silence in the face of oppression when being given to the wrong family members to grow up with and the list goes on and on and on,but all of this for the girl child is only possible with the help of the parents, guardians and most especially the government.

She futher charged Parents to give the proper orientation to the girl child , give them a little or more on sex education and self control.In other  for the girl child  to be educated, the government has to make education available for them and parents have to enroll  their female wards in them.

That  the government of the day has to abolish certain obnoxious laws governing the hypocritical acts on females like the female  genital mutilation, gender inequality and there should be more political representatives and possitions to be held by females.

Vocational training should also be organized for the girl child so that they can engage themselves in something worthwhile after school hours she added.

A foremost Ijaw activist Comrade Stanley Patrick aka Ogbakiri,a signatory to Kiama declaration and a leader of KOLTA MILITANTS has called on Ijaw leaders to call Proffesor Charlse Dokubo to order and also ask the contractors handling the Bomadi Skill Aquisition centre to quickly complete the project so that Niger Delta youths can benefit from the scheme. Ogbakiri lamented how the project is been slowed down despit the huge amount that is been pumped in to complete it,he said about 85 percent of the total contract sum have been given to the contractors and these contractors instead of doing their jobs they are busy enriching themselves and building mansions for themselves.
