As expected we will soon begin the process to elect a new set of leadership to pilot the affairs of our flagship the ijaw  youth council . Given this inevitable process I want to thank the duo of Oweilaemi Pereotubo and Eric Omare both my senior colleagues in the temple of justice and co-members in council for their show of reconciliatory disposition.   It’s true and undisputed that these past three years has been like the locust years in our history . A period where our collective agitation spirit and unity was so bastardized . A time where our voices though sonorous but was divided against its own course . ASABA AIRPORT ATTRACTS MORE AIRLINES AS OKOWA UPGRADE FACILITIES.

The recent inclusion of Azman Air to the growing fleet of airline operators at the Asaba International Airport has reinvigorated the confidence of air-travellers and the prospects of economic development in Delta State. Credible sources also revealed to The Pointer that Arik Air will resume operations  as Overland airline is expected to continue in February 2020 following the upgrade of the airport by the Governor IfeanyiOkowa administration. For the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, the decision of more airlines to operate in Asaba was a testimony that the investment of the state government in the airport is yielding fruits. AMBASSADOR KINGSLEY MUTURU GIVES OUT SCHOLARSHIP TO OVER 20 YOUTHS TO STUDY IN HIGHER INSTITUTION OF LEARNING,TRAINS ANOTHER 30 IN SKILLS AQUISITION IN BOMADI. The Ijaw Youth Vision in their 11th year Ijaw Cultural Festival, had honoured Ambasador Kingsley Muturu with an award of "the most distinguished personality". The award was given to commend and appreciate the contributory efforts he has put in place for the betterment of Ijaw Youths most especially from Bomadi Local Government Area. The Ambassador who had before now placed over 40 Youth to study in higher institution stepped up the programme by announcing an additional 20 that Wil benefit from the the scheme. The Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Delta State on Youth Mobilization Amb Godbless Keneke has charged Bomadi youths to brace up and expect the best this year from the office of the Commisioner for youths and sports development. Amb KENEKE who spoke to kpooka media reporters  via a telephone conversation said that the office of the Commisioner has already made plans to establish youth liaison offices accross the State which will interface between the youths and the government. He further expressed that all youth organizations will not be left out and promised the youths to be ready to display commitments and service so as they can benefit from the system.

Bayelsa State Governor-elect Chief David Lyon has said his priority and that of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is to develop the glory of all lands (Bayelsa state). Lyon, who spoke at an annual oil, gas and family thanksgiving service in his Olugbobiri home in Southern Ijaw, said he was indebted to the people. He said 2020 would be one of the best years in the state, adding that God chose him to lead and develop the state. OKOWA'S AIDE DISTRIBUTES RICE,CASH,WRAPPERS TO HIS COMMUNITY.

BOMADI—Senior Special Assistant to Gov Ifeanyi Okowa on Political Matters, Hon. Rawlings D. Andaye, on Christmas Eve, distributed wrappers, rice and cash gifts to indigenes of Kpakiama community in Bomadi council area of Delta state as part of activities marking the Christmas celebrations. Beneficiaries, particularly women, danced to Ijaw traditional "Owigiri music" at the community hall, venue of the occasion, after receiving their gifts with prayers on Gov Okowa and his aide. One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Akpokaboere Okaba, said "we are very happy and may God bless Andaye and Okowa, and we pray that they should do more and more in coming years." The community chairman, Mr Marcus Ayayeibo, however thanked Gov Okowa for the appointment given to their son, and also expressed appreciation for the gift items to people of the community. WE SHALL PUSH FOR A COASTAL GUARD BILL TO ENSURE SAFETY IN OUR COASTAL COMMUNITIES.PREYE EKPEBIDE

The SSA Security to the executive governor of Delta State Amb Preye Ekpebide in his new year message has called on the house of assembly members to push for a bill to establish a coastal guard,this according to him this will ensure safety in our water ways and coastal communities will not suffer from the onslaught of sea pirates. The peace ambassador speaking to news men in his country home  said that the year 2020 should ursher in fresh ideas of intelligence gathering and tackling security especially in our water ways. He further call on members of the water way and land security team to step up their game by constantly patrolling the water ways with necessary tools to move pirates out of our coastal communities. He thanked all security sectors on how they have handled the security situation in the State and he belives that the year 2020 more will be done he added.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATION WILL IMPROVE IN 2020.KELLY PENAWOU

The Special Adviser to the executive Governor of Delta State on Local Government and chieftancy affairs Hon Kelly Penawou in his new year message has promised that there will be an improvement in the Local Government administration. The special adviser who described that the various programmes thate were carried out by is office was geared towards effective local government admnistrative service. He further explained that training of staffers of the commission was to enable them improve in their capacity so as to ensure effective service delivery. He described the new year as been fertile and productive because his commission will soon reel out programmes for the year. He further thanked his Excellency Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa on the opportunity given him to serve and he as a person will ensure that the Smart Agenda of his Excellency is achieved. The SSA to the Executive Governor of Delta State Hon Francis Muturu aka Gen Aboy has promised Deltans in his new year message that in the year 2020 security of lives and property will improve. The SSA emphasized on the laudable achievements the security architecture in the state garnered in 2019, in his words  he said "I think we can do better this year since it is fresh to us and we can have a good start by understanding the security peculiarities in different local government areas and ensure the people put hands together to make things effective and supportive to security personnels".
