RE:WHY PRESIDENT BUHARI WILL NOT APPOINT A PDP MEMBER TO HEAD THE PRESIDENTIAL AMNESTY OFFICE

Image
My Attention has been drawn to a publication once again by another faceless group and faceless general calling on President Buhari not to appoint one Chief Dennis Otuaro from Delta State as the new Amnesty boss , while this is very laughable, it tells us the level of desperation of a certain group of people who have struggled all through their lives to gain relevance but hasn’t and end up begging for  survival money from one politician to the other .  It has also came to our notice that in the publication by this faceless group they have  as usual dragged the name of Tompolo into their politics, this is Unfortunate as Tompolo is not a politician and doesn’t belong to any political party, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo happens to be a leading figure in the Niger delta , his interest has always been for the betterment of Ijaw people and the entire Niger Deltans, and this we are are abreast of and it is not a secret to even this wicked people who kept on  ...

WE MUST MOVE ON ....TIMI ALAIBI

Image
As we are all aware, the election to determine the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the November 16 governorship race in Bayelsa State has been conducted. Even with all the inarguable inherent flaws bordering on crass disrespect for legal procedures and party guidelines, a winner has been declared. The delegates—whether coercively or voluntarily—have spoken even if their voices do not represent the voice of the people.   My decision to seek election as Governor of Bayelsa State was based both on the collective opinion of respected stakeholders of our beloved state and a personal conviction that I have what it takes to make the difference in the economic development of our state. Having travelled the same route more than once, I took time to pray, plan my strategies and carry out wider consultations more than I had ever done in the past.   My sincere desire was to bring into governance my experiences and exposures both in the public and private sectors—spanning more...

DELTA IJAWS REJECTS NDDC BOARD MD NOMINEE.

Image
WESTERN IJAW CONSULTATIVE ASSEMBLY (WICA) has issued a press release about the recent NDDC board that was set up. The press release reads thus. DELTA IJAW REJECTS NDDC BOARD MD NOMINEE  The Ijaw in Delta State wish to notify President Mohammadu Buhari and the National Assembly  that the nomination of Bernard Okumagba of the Urhobo extraction in Delta State as the Managing Director (MD) in the new Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) board instead of an Ijaw nominee from the state, is totally  unacceptable. This is because it is a clear case of oppression, injustice and alienation of Ijaw in Delta State by some selfish politicians acting like new pirates in power.  We state without fear of equivocation that any executive position slot for Delta State should be given to the Ijaw as it is our turn in line with the rotational arrangement as prescribed by the NDDC Act of 2000 Section 12 (1) which states that “There shall be for the Commission, a Managing Director, an...

BAYELSA GOVERNORSHIP PRIMARIES: IYC WARNS PDP, APC AGAINST VIOLENCE, BLOODSHED!

Image
The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide has warned political actors in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) against resorting to violence and bloodshed in their various governorship primaries in Bayelsa State. The IYC in a statement signed by its Secretary-General, Alfred Kemepado Nimizigha, appealed to the parties to ensure a hitch-free, transparent and credible gubernatorial party primaries in Bayelsa. He asked them to play by the rules and avoid actions and utterances that could heat up the polity. NDDC APPOINTMENT:IJAW GROUP CONDEMNED GOVERNORS INTERFERANCE.

Image
The Delta Ijaw Political Machineries has condemned the interference of Governors of oil-producing states on the recent appointment of some persons into the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) board by President Muhammadu Buhari. It would be recalled that the governors of the oil-producing states in a meeting held last Thursday in Abuja rejected the composition of the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission and some appointments made into the NDDC by President Muhammadu Buhari. But in reaction to action of the governors of the oil-producing states, the Delta Ijaw Political Machineries in a statement signed by its national coordinator, Hon. Stanley Garry said it’s the prerogative of Mr. President to appoint persons of his choice to man positions of authority, federal agencies, parastatals and boards. The statement reads: “President Buhari has stated it clearly; that it’s only the Ministry of Niger Delta affairs has the controlling authority to supervise the affairs and acti...

TAKE DUE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SCHOOLS IN THE RIVERINE COMMUNITIES OR ALLOW US TO PRIVATIZE THEM.

Image
I think its gradually getting to the point where we will have no other option but to appeal for the privatization of the schools in the riverine communities, since the state government has decided not to take full responsibility of the schools.  The present state of the schools in our riverine communities is so pathetic to the point where classes are been rationed in some schools. In order to meet up with the elaborate syllabus, the  headmistress of one of the primary schools in Gbaramatu kingdom, who happens to be the only government staff and teacher in the  school had to ration the classes in  order for her not to  over stress herself.  The headmistress had to ration the classes in the school due to the lack of teachers. The classes are rationed in a way that  primary 1,2 and 3 are asked to come to school on Monday, while primary 4,5 and 6 are  to stay at home. And the next day, primary 1,2 and 3 are asked to stay at home, while primary 4,5 and...
