AKPABIO HAS SKELETON IN HIS CUPBOARD,GROUP BLAST MINISTER OF NIGER DELTA AFFAIRS.

The Ijaw Volunteers ex-militants has blasted the Honourable Minister for Niger Delta Affairs Senator Godswill Akpabio on his continues pursuit to allow an interim board to run the NDDC despite the fact that the new appointed board members have been screened and confirmed by the Senate.

The group in a statement signed by Comrade Azorbo Amabiri noted that there is no doubt that the Honourable Minister wants to use the interim board which was rejected by the Senate to cover his loop holes and use them as conduits to syphone his "supposed"money he has lost during elections.

They futher noted that it is  evident that the Honourable minister who in character and virtue have a trace of corruptable practices has seen an avenue to amass wealth for himself and his cronies.

Senator Godswil Akpabio who recently on his emergence as the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs has ursuped powers by using the backdoor to employ over 300 staff into the NDDC,as we speak appointment letters are flying around everywhere in the commission

As a group,we are not against the directive of Mr President for the auditing of the NDDC forensically but we want it to be done with clear intentions as directed by Mr President.

As the forensic audit is going on admistrative duties too can as well go on side by side.

We are in no doubt vindicated as a group as the Senate President Lawan Ahmed rejected the the inauguration of the interim board.

If the Honourable Minister has nothing to hide,he should concerntrate on the huge budgetary allocations to the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs for the development of the Niger Delta knowing fully that the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and the NDDC are both interventionist agencies to develop the Niger Delta.




Just look at how Dr  Cairo Ojugbo was too much in a hurry to start barking. The IMC is yet to swing into its given assignment, the books are yet to be opened but Cairo Ojugboh in his usual immature,antagonistic disposition has made shocking revelations without even consulting the rest of the members of the IMC he added.

Who is the Senator that was awarded over 300 contracts that don't have a name?

It would require wisdom and maturity  to be able to expose any form of rot in the NDDC.  The IMC was not set up to unleash attack on any perceived enemy of Cairo Ojugboh as he has done. It was not inaugurated with any individual senator in mind to be destroyed. 

They are yet to resume duties and the forensic audit as envisaged is yet to start off but Cairo decided to jump the boat by making groundless revelations.

 This is too hasty. He has stepped the wrong foot forward and the still waters are already  boiling. The IMC getting submerged and the purpose for its establishment is heading for a collapse. Dr Cairo must learn to be tactical in politics. 

He was in PDP to reconcile factions (governors) to support his erstwhile master, Momodu Sheriff as chairman but ended up rocking the boat for him    with his unguarded utterances. This he did by referring to gov Okowa and other governors as rebels. 

Today, in his characteristic  manner Dr Cairo has spoken far  ahead without even starting off his official duties. Let's see what unfolds in the days ahead especially now that a substantive management team for the NDDC is put in place.

A foremost Ijaw activist Comrade Stanley Patrick aka Ogbakiri,a signatory to Kiama declaration and a leader of KOLTA MILITANTS has called on Ijaw leaders to call Proffesor Charlse Dokubo to order and also ask the contractors handling the Bomadi Skill Aquisition centre to quickly complete the project so that Niger Delta youths can benefit from the scheme.
