A one time aspirant in the Delta State House Of Assembly seat under the SDP Hon Selebi Tarebi has called on the government of the day to focus more in the educational sector. Speaking to kpooka media reporters, immediately after his graduation as a political scientist from the Niger Delta University, the Hon said "he is filled with joy today as he can now be called a graduate am on his peers" that education is the only light that can differentiate one from the other he added. He further expresed the need for government to support those that are less privileged by giving them scholarship and payment of bursary. Hon Selebi Tarebi said "I believe that if our youth get the right and quality education,our society will ne void of criminal element. It is not enough to purchase jamb forms for students but to support them throuh school because education this days is very expensive he concluded.

Some critical stakeholders in the Niger Delta region operating under the auspices of Ijaws in Oil and Gas has stated that making Chief Dennis Otuaro, the coordinator of the Amnesty programme and adviser to the president on Niger Delta affairs would be the best thing that will ever happen to the people of the region at the moment.   An intellectual group in the Niger Delta region operating under the auspices of Educational Rights Agitation of the Ijaws, ERAI and Ijaws in Oil and Gas have informed President Muhammadu Buhari on the need to urgently replace the national coordinator of the Amnesty programme, Prof. Charles Dokubo, stressing that the programme is dying under his watch.
