GOD IN THE CHOICE OF DAVID LYON.Kingsley Kuku


Moses, the great law-giver and Chief of the Prophets according to the Maimonides, was a stutterer. This age-long assessment may be relative. Pa. Moses may have had communication disorder or so designed from his close contact with the awesome God for a purpose. God chose Moses and he delivered.



Governor-elect, David Lyon has been declared and returned Winner of the November 16, 2019 Governorship Election of Bayelsa State. The process may have been fraught with some irregularities, typical of Nigeria’s Democratic Experiment, benefited ALL, one time or the other; as usual, a Winner has emerged. Chief David Lyon, a true son of Ologbobiri in Southern Ijaw LGA of Bayelsa State won. Without prejudice to the rights of contending Candidates and Parties to seek redress legally, it’s TIME for Bayelsa and IjoNation to March On. And March On we must with Governor-elect, David Lyon. God Almighty has a divine hand in David’s Emergence, either in fulfillment of a divine personal purpose OR to teach man, you and I, a lesson. Perhaps, we may learn therefrom. Like Moses, God Almighty, the Agbagbatuwa pouyei, has spoken.

To mankind, you and I, other than David’s acclaimed philanthropy, he would have been the least qualified amongst the creme de la cream of Candidates. We may be 💯 right. God’s ways are not our ways, His choices radical and awesome, and there lies His Godliness, His Godliness divine, instructive, humbling and final. Men of divine purpose are characteristically unwilling, unready and unfit in the eyes of man, but when their purpose train moves, destinations are usually accessed or reached. Moses saw, Aaron accessed the Promised Land, Joshua reached. God was in their lives of purpose. David Lyon may eventually be our Moses, Aaron or Joshua towards Peace, Prosperity and Developmental Empowerment. Such doesn’t require grammatical efficiency. God’s hands are visible to those who may see. I can.

David Lyon has Primary School Certificate, Secondary School Certificate and NCE Certificate. That’s Ph.D. I have high regards for his Certificates. He didn’t earn them under helping fees . No wonder, he has been able to profoundly manage his businesses and man (f/m) with great success. He has been reported by lovers and foes a success story of mankind. Politics is business, so is development and the art of empowerment . The search and yearn age-long has been for the people-based manager of these businesses. David Lyon may deliver excellently in this business. He earns our benefit of doubt , support and prayers, Political Persuasions, regardless. Jehovah is on His throne.

I have seen 2/3 video clips of Governor-elect, David Lyon addressing Party Faithful and the media. Truly, he made a few errors in sentencial balance, but did you, like me, see into his sincerity, fears, and determination to prove sceptics wrong? I saw those. Professors still say “what of if”. David is an Ijo Patriot, not from England or United States of America. I give no damn about his grammar NOW. I care about his New Vision and Team. I have been praying God touches Chief Timipre Marlin Sylva, David’s John and David Lyon to focus on the best in Human Resources to deliver positively for posterity. 

Bayelsans desire greater improvement from past efforts. Alams, GEJ, Sylva and HSD have done their best, history records. Bayelsa deserves a debt-free purse, prompt payment of hard-working servants, sacking of irresponsible workers, cleanup and blockade of ghost worker syndrome, good roads and waterways network, eradication of cultism, enthronement of peace and boosting of viable business environment, fair justice system, Local Government Autonomy to engender local/communal development, completion and immediate functioning of a commercial/cargo airport, ensuring stable electricity by all legitimate ways and means, and provision of the appropriate socio-Political people-based service to the entire IjoNation.  It’s serious business, frightening but achievable, at least, great to give sincerest of efforts.

David Lyon can, may be our Moses, Aaron or Joshua. I am not sure of who David would be of the trio, but am sure of one thing totally. It’s the divine fact that God gives power, all powers, either in fulfillment of a divine purpose or to teach a lesson. He has a hand in the life and times of David Lyon. You and I, Sylva, Alaibe, PGEJ, Mama Peace, Lokpobiri and HSD may ALL have been instruments of this divine purpose. Let us pray!
