BARR. ALLEN; A GLOBAL PEACE BUILDER WHO REMAINS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY

Our attention has been drawn to an alleged indictment of Allen Ifechukwu Athan Onyema, the Chairman, CEO, and founder of Air Peace, by the United States government of bank fraud and money laundering. This character portrayal of the humble chief may not be a precise reflection of reality. This to our mind, may just be an attempt to shoot down his emerging high profile of goodwill.



We wish to state unequivocally and  in very strong terms that all men and women of impeccable pedigree must stand with, and frontally head off this plot that reeks of hate against  Barr. Allen. He remains innocent until proven guilty. That is the position of the law in all jurisdictions. We agree with his position on this matter as stated below:

“I never laundered money in my life, neither have I committed bank fraud anywhere in the world. Every Kobo I transferred to the US for aircraft purchase went through the Central Bank of Nigeria LC regime and all were used for the same purpose. The American companies that received the funds are still in business. I never took a penny from any US bank or Nigerian bank. I am willing to defend my innocence in the US courts”.

As can be seen, he leaves no one in any further doubts that he has never circumvented any procedures. Therefore, we take exemption to any blackmail and conspiratorial  attacks against an international peace builder on the social media by global players and Nigerians alike.

We note the roles he played, through his foundation, for the restoration of peace to the Niger Delta on the platform of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, and his peace building efforts between the Benue State Government and the Miyetti Allah Association. 

He has also intervened in curbing the rift between the IPOB and the Federal government. Most recently, we recall his uncommon act of charity when he airlifted back to Nigeria several of our citizens from South Africa at the peak of the fresh Xenophobic attacks on our people and other foreigners. 

Therefore, it beats everyone's imagination that having done the foregoing for humanity, Barr. Allen is being targeted to be brought down and humiliated. Still, he remains innocent until proven otherwise both here in Nigeria  and in the United States. Hence, his media trial is uncharitable when what he truly deserves is nothing but the support of all Nigerians in these trying times.

A foremost Ijaw activist Comrade Stanley Patrick aka Ogbakiri,a signatory to Kiama declaration and a leader of KOLTA MILITANTS has called on Ijaw leaders to call Proffesor Charlse Dokubo to order and also ask the contractors handling the Bomadi Skill Aquisition centre to quickly complete the project so that Niger Delta youths can benefit from the scheme. Ogbakiri lamented how the project is been slowed down despit the huge amount that is been pumped in to complete it,he said about 85 percent of the total contract sum have been given to the contractors and these contractors instead of doing their jobs they are busy enriching themselves and building mansions for themselves. The story of professor Charlse Dokubo could be likened to Amalanze the cat,that  great wrestler whose back never  touched the ground.
