COMMUNITY POLICING IS THE BEST WAY TO CURB INSECURITY IN BOMADI LGA.. OBIE
The Senior Special Assistant to the the Executive Governor of Delta State on security Hon Prince Godwin Obie has said that the best way to curb insecurity in Bomadi LGA and Delta state at large is the implementation of proper community policing.
This he spoke to news men through a telephone chat with Kpooka Media Reporters that the prevalent security situation in the LGA is alarming and there is an urgent need for community policing to come to stay in the state.
Outlining the pros of the initiative Hon Prince Godwin Obie said that community policing will not only employ teeming youths but also engage them in meaningful service to themselves and to the state.
That community policing will help in reducing the bulk of work on the Nigerian Police force,Joint military take force and the SSS because those that perpetrate crimes are individuals around not people from the forest he added.
He further expressed the need to engage community development leaders in security handling and each quarter that make up every community should have at least 10 persons working as a community police officer. This will enable them gather intelligent reports about crime timely and promptly.
He thanked the Hon William Angadi's administration on how he has tackled security in the LGA but encourage him to do more.
