The Chairman one million Youths, Amb Ebi Lagos has reaffirmed his support for Meli Kyrai Group Managing Director NNPCL  and has passed a vote of confidence on him. Speaking in Yenagoa the Bayelsa State capital, Amb Eregbene Charged Youths to be steadfast and support the activies of the NNPCL in combating oil theft,illegal bunkering activities in the Niger Delta. He futher buttress that the NNPCL has taken oil production to its peak by engaging Youths and key actors in the Niger Delta. This he noted has not only brought good relationship with the people of  Niger Delta, but as well shown the level.of responsiveness of the coy and the people of Niger Delta.

The National Cordnator  1 million Youths in the Niger Delta, Comrade Ebi Lagos has called on Youths in the Niger to throw their weight behind the Group Managing Director NNPCL Meli Kyari. While speaking to Youths in Lagos in a one day retreat for sustainable leadership in the Niger Delta,Comrade Ebi Lagos reiterates that the NNPCL has made so much impact under the watch of Kyari. The issue of oil theft has been drastically nipped to the bud by the NNPCL as they have worked with both conventional and non conventional security agencies in the country. He also remphasized that oil production has risen since Kyari takes the leadership of the NNPCL.  The leadership of the  1 million Youth group in the Niger Delta futher thanked the youth for coming together to support the system and also seeing that government apparatus work effectively.  He promised to relay their good will messages back to the GMD

Earlier today, the leadership of the Red Cross Society of Nigeria confered an Honourary Associate Membership Award on Barrister Oweilaemi Pereotubo to mark the international World Youth day in Warri Delta State. The award, according to the leadership of the red cross was conferred on him based on his peaceful disposition during and after his reign as president of the Ijaw Youth Council, quoting the words of Barister Oweilaemi Pereotubo who have always said that "he will do only what ijaw people asked him to do". The leadership of the group also likened him to a "dove" who is peaceful at every given time. Daniel Pondei, Acting MD of the NDDC says the Senate and House of Representative Ad-hoc Committees investigating the commission are weaponizing the forensic audit against the interim management due to the implication of some lawmakers in contract scandal. Pondei, who was reacting to a newspaper report credited to the Senate Ad-Hoc Committee that he and members of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) were collecting 30% of total contract amount from contractors before paying them, said “it is surprising and disappointing that the Senate Committee can be attributed with unproven allegations as their final report.” The NDDC boss however said that he is not distracted by spurious allegations perpetrated by those bent on scuttling the ongoing forensic audit of the Commission. The House of Representatives has summoned all serving and former heads of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) as part of the ongoing probe of financial mismanagement in the agency. The House Committee on Public Accounts issued the summons based on queries issued by the Office of the Auditor-General of the Federation on the accounts of the NDDC. This is different from the probe being carried out by the House Committee on the NDDC over alleged illegal spending and mismanagement of funds totalling N81.5bn. Those to appear before the Committee on Public Accounts include the acting Managing Director, Daniel Pondei; Executive Director of Projects, Cairo Ojougboh and the immediate-past acting MD, Joi Nunieh.
