JAMANGIE AND THE ABANDONED IJAW COMMUNITIES IN EDO STATE.

Jamangie community is under  Inikorogha ward, Ovia South West Local Government of Edo state,since the creation of the local government no body has ever been elected  even  as a councilor to represent the community in the local government.




Despite the fact that Jamagie has two polling unit which are Jamangie unit 1 and ifiyebou unit two,the people are not still found worthy for political appointments or to be represented in the Ovia South West Local Government Of Edo State.

Though Inikorogha is under Olodiama Kingdom Jamangie is of the Egbema Kingdom.

The Jamangie people speak ijaw language fluently and they still maintain the ijaw cultural values as regards to burial rites,marriage rites and their greeting culture is compared to none.

The Jamangie people since creation have not seen any government prescence, basic amenities such as pipeborne water,electricity,access road and telecommuincation facility  have not been seen in that community.




The people of Jamangie due to poor facilitates and no government prescence chose to live in close by cities like Sapele,Warri,Benin and they can be found all over Nigeria and abroad. 

Every female child who lives in Jamangie before the age of 13 and above is already married or has given birth to a child.

Due to the fact that the people don't have access road it takes much burden for the people to erect morden day structures,it takes 2 hours 30minutes for  one to travel from Sapele waterside to Jamangie in a 200 Yamaha horsepower speedboat.




Jamagie community is surrounded by other ijaw speaking communities such as 

1=Ofunama
2=Gbeoba
3=Ajakurama
4=Abere
5=Gbolukanga
6=Bolou-Jamagie

It is at this juncture we call on Ijaw nation to quickly look into the plight of the Jamangie People,the need urgent attention and government prescence in the community.

KOLTA MILITANT AKA OGBAKIRI BLOWS HOT, CALL ON IJAW NATION TO CALL CHARLSE DOKUBO AND CONTRATORS TO COMPLETE THE BOMADI SKILL AQUISITION CENTRE. Kpooka reporters - 09:14

A foremost Ijaw activist Comrade Stanley Patrick aka Ogbakiri,a signatory to Kiama declaration and a leader of KOLTA MILITANTS has called on Ijaw leaders to call Proffesor Charlse Dokubo to order and also ask the contractors handling the Bomadi Skill Aquisition centre to quickly complete the project so that Niger Delta youths can benefit from the scheme. Ogbakiri lamented how the project is been slowed down despit the huge amount that is been pumped in to complete it,he said about 85 percent of the total contract sum have been given to the contractors and these contractors instead of doing their jobs they are busy enriching themselves and building mansions for themselves. PROFESSOR CHARLSE DOKUBO,A MAN WITH MANY LIVES...KEN KOLOSI

The story of professor Charlse Dokubo could be likened to Amalanze the cat,that  great wrestler whose back never  touched the ground.
