DELTA HOSTS 18TH MEETINGS OF THE JOINT PLANNING BOARD/NATIONAL COUNCIL ON DEVELOPMENT PLANNING

It is hereby announced for the information of the general public particularly Deltans that the 18th Edition of the Joint Planning Board (JPB) and National Council on Development Planning (NCDP) will hold in Delta State from Wednesday October 9 to Friday October 11, 2019.

The theme for this year’s Meeting is, “State Fiscal Sustainability and Economic Diversification in Nigeria.” His Excellency, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is expected to declare open the National Council on Development Planning on Friday October 11, 2019.

His Excellency, Senator Dr ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State, will deliver a Key Note address at the event which will hold at the Event Centre, Okpanam Road Asaba at 9.00am each day.

The JPB/NCDP Meetings are organised annually and serve as veritable platform for Senior Officials in charge of Budget and Fiscal Planning as well as Agencies responsible for Budget Planning Matters, Representatives of the Organised Private Sector, Development Partners and Civil Society Organisations to interact among themselves on socio-economic issues.

Accordingly, all top Government Functionaries, Permanent Secretaries, Chairmen of Boards and Commissions, the Organised Private Sector in Delta State and Stakeholders in the Delta State Fiscal Planning Project are by this announcement invited to attend the ceremony.

A foremost Ijaw activist Comrade Stanley Patrick aka Ogbakiri,a signatory to Kiama declaration and a leader of KOLTA MILITANTS has called on Ijaw leaders to call Proffesor Charlse Dokubo to order and also ask the contractors handling the Bomadi Skill Aquisition centre to quickly complete the project so that Niger Delta youths can benefit from the scheme. Ogbakiri lamented how the project is been slowed down despit the huge amount that is been pumped in to complete it,he said about 85 percent of the total contract sum have been given to the contractors and these contractors instead of doing their jobs they are busy enriching themselves and building mansions for themselves. The story of professor Charlse Dokubo could be likened to Amalanze the cat,that  great wrestler whose back never  touched the ground.
