NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA APPRECIATES THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, FEC AND MINISTER OF YOUTH AND SPORTS DEVELOPMENT FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE NIGERIAN YOUTH INVESTMENT FUND (NYIF).

It is a new dawn for the entire Nigerian Youth! When a "square peg is in a square hole", things begin to fall into shape! The sound of hope echoes in the air, the long awaited dream has become a reality. There is a song of joy on our lips!



Gratitude, they say, is the least of all virtues but it's vice - ingratitude is the worst of all vices. According to William Shakespeare, "an ungrateful child is worse than the serpent's tooth".  In line with the above assertions, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), under the pragmatic leadership of Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, heartily appreciates the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, and the entire Federal Executive Council (FEC) for this laudable patriotic act of approving the establishment of the Nigerian Youth Investment Fund (NYIF) to the tune of 75 billion Naira. Today, hope has been restored to millions of talented, hardworking and resilient Nigerian Youth.

This fund is earmarked to create a special window for the Nigerian Youth to  access credit facilities and finance that will help to fund their entrepreneurial ideas and innovations. This laudable  milestone has shown that this administration has the interest of the Nigerian Youth at heart. 

National Youth Council of Nigeria extends her unalloyed gratitude to our dogged, innovative and trailblazer Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, under whose supervision immeasurable rays of light have shone on the areas of Youth development. Under his eagle-eyed watch, Nigerian Youth have a breath of fresh air and hope has been restored to the constituency. 

National Youth Council of Nigeria, under the leadership of Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, pledges an unalloyed and unfettered support to this administration and to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, for this patriotic and Youth-oriented initiative. The council is willing and ready to proffer her best and to collaborate with the Ministry in the execution of this project and entrepreneurial initiative to the betterment of the entire Nigerian Youth and the growth of our beloved Nation - Nigeria. 

With a heart of joy, we say "thank you" to President Muhammadu Buhari, the Federal Executive Council and the Minister of Youth and Sports Development. May this commendable and admirable initiative bring more economic growth and stability to our great Nation.

A foremost Ijaw activist Comrade Stanley Patrick aka Ogbakiri,a signatory to Kiama declaration and a leader of KOLTA MILITANTS has called on Ijaw leaders to call Proffesor Charlse Dokubo to order and also ask the contractors handling the Bomadi Skill Aquisition centre to quickly complete the project so that Niger Delta youths can benefit from the scheme. Ogbakiri lamented how the project is been slowed down despit the huge amount that is been pumped in to complete it,he said about 85 percent of the total contract sum have been given to the contractors and these contractors instead of doing their jobs they are busy enriching themselves and building mansions for themselves. The story of professor Charlse Dokubo could be likened to Amalanze the cat,that  great wrestler whose back never  touched the ground. Just as the nature of cats  that survive many battles,so is proffessor Charlse Dokubo.  Since the day he emerged as the Special Adviser to the president on the Amnesty pProgramme there are tens of thousands of petitions to remove him from office that he is incompetent and not be able to address the problems of the Niger Delta.
