THE 8TH NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL WILL CHART A NEW PATH FOR IJAW NATION..IYC NATIONAL SPOKESMAN
.....Expresses Commitment to the Interest of Ijaw Nation
The Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) Worldwide have conducted a peaceful election in Oporoza Community in Warri South West Local Government Council of Delta State, leading to the emergence of Comrade Peter Timothy Igbifa as the 8th President of Council.
Also elected are Saviour Olali, deputy president, Frank Pukon, Secretary-General, Ebilade Ekerefe, Spokesman, Sunny Ebiye, Financial Secretary, Timilaemi Ebifiobo, Treasurer, Tina Tobusi, woman Leader.
Also elected are Amafina Otto, Asst. Secretary General, Obiri Ebilade, legal adviser, Israel Fubara, Director of mobilization and Ofiyou O.Dennis as Asst director of mobilization.
Speaking on behalf of the newly elected national executives of the IYC, Comrade Ebilade Ekerefe thanked a foremost leader from the region, high chief Government Ekpemupolo for hosting the IYC convention in his community at Oporoza in Gbaramatu kingdom.
Ebilade the newly elected Spokesman of the IYC also thank the electoral committee under Barr. Bekewei Ajuwa for conducting a free, fair and transparent election which produced Comr. Peter Timothy Igbifa as president and commended former leaders and elders of the Council particularly Barr. Eric Omare and Barr. Oweilaemi Pereotubo who sacrificed their time and resources in seeing through the process that birthed the new united leadership.
Comr. Ebilade stated that the Council under the leadership of Comr. Peter Timothy Igbifa will not fold their hands and watch the abrakadabra that is currently going on in the NDDC, Amnesty office and other key government institutions that is suppose to have positive impact on the region to continue.
He stated that, in few days from now, the IYC will consult with critical stakeholders from the region and take a firm and decisive position on the drama that is currently going on in the NDDC and the Presidential Amnesty office.
He assured the Ijaw Nation that moving forward, their leadership will not tolerate 5th columnist who are conniving with external forces to shortchange the collective Ijaw interest.
The Spokesman called on everyone in the region to cooperate with the new leadership and assured of its readiness to engaging and mobilizing Ijaw youths for the task ahead.
He thanked the aspirants, particularly the once who didn't make the exco to see it as the hand of God and join hands with them in rewriting the wrongs.
Comr. Ebilade promised that the leadership will work with everybody from the region, including political elites to setting a strategic agenda in the areas of security, environment, politics, infrastructure, youths engagements and empowerment.
He called on the IOC's operating within the region to be ready for a robust engagements as it will not be business as usual.
